I know the Specs for the PC are in the manual, but from experience, I know that they are often inaccurate. Usually you need to better the reccommended specs before you can run the game on High settings.
I was wondering if any memebers of CHU could tell me their specs and how fast they can run Oblivion.

    My Specs:
    AMD Athlon64 X2 4600+
    Gigabyte Motherboard
    Internal Sound
    Geforce 7300GT DDR2 256MB
    2GB DDR2 RAM (2X 1GB sticks)

With this, I can run the game on meduim in enclosed areas, but it won't even take 640X480 on low in the outside areas. I need to know what specs I need to get Oblivion running smooth on High settings...
    Thanks...

Hm thats hard ... not even 640x480? Oo
Possible that the grafikcard is a bit to small.
More important, is the hardrive defraged, driver up to date, temporary files deletet, at least 1-2gb on the OS drive free and so on ... so much that can be wrong ^^
aktually i play on a laptop with:
    Intel 3,6Ghz
    2 gb ram
    ati x1900 256mb

and only some stutter on all high without grass(lets play find the warhammer), far sight and shadows off(dont like them).
The big one all smoth exept some freaking 20x spawn mods.

I considering upgrading to a Geforce 8600GT 512MB, but cash is kinda tight at the moment so I'll have to wait and see...

I had a 3200+ AMD Athlon before, but that couldn't run Oblivion smoothly on any settings...

Well that depends on the graphic card. I had this same processor with the graphic card ATI Radeon 9600Pro and with 512 DDR1 RAM and it wen't smothly on low.

Hey, I know the standard (I want to say the specs that you can go flawlessly for very less money) for today's game with last year specs, I guess.

My friend play Oblivion, NFS Carbon, Flight Simulator X with this specs and he enjoy it anyway:

    AMD Athlon X2 4200+
    Kingston 2GB RAM DDR2 667
I don't know his motherboard, he only said it is priced $90 or less
    250GB Harddisk
    GeForce 7600GT
He buy it about $900 last year for his birthday (Not the most powerful specs yet, anyway he bought a new car too around $23,000 at the same time, no wonder)
NB: his father bought it all

    Me, myself have
Core 2 Duo E6320 --> It can runs in 3GHz with $50 cooler
    2GB Corsair DDR 800
    nForce 650i SLI motherboard Fatal1ty
Gygabyte GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB --> add $40 and it runs fine in 650/1900
    This machine is very noisy
Runs fine (fast) with XP but feels slow in Vista
