No, i dont think that matters, what you need is 5 empty grand soul gems, go in to your inventory and check to see if they are all empty, if so well then i guess it's another of those promenant glitches.

Great...whether glitched or not do you know where there's any empty grand soul gems, I'd like to give it a shot regardless.

I've gotten the one from the witches basement, one from the mages guild in Chorral via the vendor, one from the Mages Emporium in Imperial City via the vendor, and the rest from one of the locked cases inside Chorral Mages guild...thanks, I appreciate the help

Go to all of the mages guild halls and if you don't find them lying around go to someone is selling things and buy some off those people.

Necromansers and goblin shamans usually have them.

I'm currently recruiting cities for the Defense of Bruma and I'm in the Imperial City but no one from the council will see me, when is the best time to be there and where exactly should I be in the council chambers to speak to someone about this...thank you

Don't bother them. They won't send you troops even if you see all of them. Go to the other cities.

actually, you dont have to recruit anybody, it just means there wont be as many daedra attacking you at once

i did it with about 7-9 other guys then plus the blades and jauffre and martin

Bah, the helpers don't help as much as I thought they would. I got maybe two cities. Then I attacked and it wasn't hard at all until about 10 seconds before the final gate opened.
