wait......is that the old missingno. trick??? I had no idea you could do that in and version other than red/blue

no you cant

so if you cant use the gameshark, its gotta be the missingno...
to get that, you talk to the guy who shows you how to catch a pokemon, then you fly to cinnabar island and surf right next to the island on the east side.

you can't get the missingno. in D/P.. and cinnabar island and viridian city are in pokemon blue, yellow, and red
