    2 things:

    Relax.
    Keep it simple.

He isn't hard at all. If you have a SnS with Water Attribute well that's great! GS suck vs Gravios. Either Hammers or SnS rule.
When he blows his "fire ray", go for the chest. BUT! If he makes a funny noise/ takes longer than usuall to blow fire, DO NOT ATTACK HIM. Or he will do a fire fart (as fatalisslayer called it) and it's annoying. When he's swinging his tail, go under his legs and stay in one position, then he has no chance of hitting you. When his chest is broken, attack it there even more (it's softer and weaker). When he's about to charge, just do a combo (recomended with SnS only) and he will not hit you he'll just run over you - that's 'cause you move forwards/ behind him a bit - and it hurts him.
One more thing, when he's having a fart/ fire/ powder coming out of his body, attack his tail. Hope I helped

Very much so, would using dual swords with water attrib be just as good (Cutlass+)
or is SnS the only one to use?

DS (Dual Swords) are fine. Just that there's no blocking, which you'll hardly need (only if you're a spaz and you find a huge Gravios charging towards you). Plus, it's easier to stay in one position with DS

Yep. Black, and he charges less often than the Normal Gravios. Also, you can tel when it's a different colour 'cause it's got a higher reward.

Oh one more important thing just incase you don't know:

Bring Herbs and Potions + Food because they don't give you any ratios/ first aid meds
