Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Message Board  

Okay, I might be new to this game, but I'm sure that this is not normal. Shady Sam just sort of randomly began attacking me inside of Chestnut Handy Stables. Then two black horses began attacking me as well. They wouldn't leave me alone, even if I went inside of a house.
Eventually, the horses calmed down and I killed Shady Sam, but does anyone know what might have happened to make them act that way?

maybe you accidentally attacked him or stole from him, but that wouldnt explain the horses 🤔

No, I wasn't anywhere near him at all. I have no idea what happened. I think that maybe the horses were attacking me because I may have hit them while trying to defend myself, but I still don't understand why Shady Sam was after me. I hadn't talked to him in over a day, and I wasn't near him at all. He just kind of came charging at me. I thought an assassin was after me, then I saw his name. I don't get what happened.

have you stolen one of the horses before, because once, after i killed baenlin for the dark brotherhood, i walked into olavs tap and tack and he started to attack me, but i managed to get out of baenlins house without him noticing me

it may be something to do with the thievs guild as when you join you are informed that the homeless are with you did you get kicked out of the thievs guild

No, I didn't join the thieves guild and I didn't steal anything from anyone. It was virtually a brand new character. I don't know what happened. Maybe just some sort of glitch in the program. Oh well, I'll just have to get by without Sam.

how far into the main quest are you cause he might be part of the mythic dawn. they seem like nice normal people but then after a while into the quest they attack you without any provacation.
