    You don't need great handling to be a drifter. Quite the opposite in fact. If that was the case, why aren't the F1 cars sliding all over the place?

    cuz they have excellent stabilization and a really good drivetrain. Their handling (NFSC way) is @ the max.

    Lol...

    I think personally, the keys to being a great drifter is first of all to be able to concentrate completely on the corners and be aware of the exact angle and speed your ride needs to be at for maximum points, while maintaining a high speed.
    Secondly, a broad imagination to visualize your car sliding perfectly around each and every corner before you actually initiate the drift.
    Last of all, the ability to be able to throw your tail out at the corners just enough for the perfect slide, and to whip it back in and slide it out the other side at the perfect angle.

    So overall, i would say that it takes a fair amount of skill, awareness, visualizing... And it helps to be good with angles too..
