i used the dupe glitch on nistor's boots, I sold all but one, and now I can't equip the 1 pair I have! what's going on?

first off, i dont believe in the duplication glitche, i have done it but i say it ruins the game, and are these boots from shivering isle because ive never heard of them?

I'm not sure the boots are from shivering isle, because when i take off the patchs(including the expansion) with the mantinece check thing that takes off patchs, it doesn't give me my items from the expansion. so i don't like glitching anyways, i only did it cause I needed money.
