Jade Empire: Special Edition Message Board  

Hi Wiz and, thanks again for another great trainer. That is, I'm sure it'll be great if I ever get to use it. I downloaded Jade Empire Special Edition from D2D and now I cannot activate the game. By checking in with GameSpy and making certain I was logged in with them and their affiliates, I have always found a list of the games I have downloaded along with the activation codes which I have used several times when the program required this and, which have always worked. Not this time, however. The box which is used to print in the activation code differs from the others and, I keep being told, I have an improper internet connection or have entered a faulty or invalid code. Worse yet, I have been unable to get any real help from Direct2Drive with this. All they sent was a machine letter with several suggestions, none of which applied to the problem I am having and none of which worked. In order to keep them from closing the issue I had to file another claim, but, I don't know if I'll get satisfaction or not. I am almost ready to abandon downloading games from the internet altogether. I don't mind doing this if the download works but, when it doesnot and I can get no satisfaction, etc., I think it is time to quit. I know this may not be the proper place to post this but, I felt others should know of problems they might face when downloading via the internet, the far from adequate satisfaction in resolving the problem and, to ask if anyone else is having or has had the same problem. If I ever get the game to work I'll make good use of your trainer, you can believe that. Guess I'll have to order the boxed version if I can find it.

WEll i guess thats the problem of legally buying games. Anyone who downloads it has less problems and more fun (no cd etc.). It's a shame such a good game gets bad critics from several people, only cuz the D2D people can't manage their own system. And then the industry is wondering why games don't sell that well. I don't have to think about that: make the games actually work without the need of 10 hours in research so a legal customer can actually PLAY the game which he spent a LOT of money for.

Splinter Cell 4 always crashed in level 4. No solution so far and my system is definitely not too slow. Core 2 Duo 2.00, 2 Gig Ram, GF 7900 and 2x160 @ RAID-0. One of many bad examples about customer service. After reloading the same savegame for like 30 minutes over and over it FINALLY managed to load it without crashing.

By now this happened to me a lot of times and by now i download games first, then see if they're playable and when they're not, then i don't buy them. Better than FIRST buying them just to see they don't work and then fight with the stores about taking their games back.

You can't do the automatic activation. I also bought it from D2D, and what I remember is:

I tried the bottom activation method, but it gave me similar errors. So on the same activation screen, there is another method above the one I first tried, once I used this it worked right away! And I didn't have to call anyone or anything like either.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but I did this months ago.
