    I found that if you hit Ctrl+Delete it will remove the selected unit

    Interesting, so are you saying that this works like a sort of game cheat? Did you do anything more besides just hitting those keys?

    why not just use the games build in delete functon? Suicide Default is;
    Ctrl - K
    it suicides any and all units you have selected, including your commander if he is selected.
    NOTE:Though untested, I doubt it works as a cheat - suicide enemy units, as cheats dont need to be enabled to use this
