HELLO ANGUS YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE AN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION BUT HERE GOES ANYWAY. to get to snow peak start at zora's domain and float down two water falls try to stay to the left if you can. at the second water fall before you go to the lower water falls look for a green hill with two guards follow a path you'll see waht looks like snow. you'll find a woman who will draw you a picture which you take to the grave yard to get a special redfish lure. return to the second water fall and fish by the two large rock formations coming out of the water you'll catch a redfish. turn to a wolf and follow the sent it will take you to the snow peake ruins. inside you'll find a ball and chain that will break ice. good luck.

Listen, no offence. But the people below are wrong. You don't need to have the ball and chain to break the ice. I spent days trying to figure this out but. I found the answer lol. Sooo here it is...

Go to Death Mountain, then go to where the huge rock fell near you when there was meteor showers. Turn into a wolf and go close to it. The Midna button should flash, she'll ask you if you want to warp it. Say Warp and take it to Zora's Domain. It'll fall and because it's so hot, melt the ice! There you go! Happy to have helped
