I downloaded the Mega Trainer 1.40 after updating to version 1.40 and when I play the game -- the cheats are not working for me. I reviewed the troubleshooting guide...all looks good there... except -- what Third Party programs are they referring to that should be shut down??

When the trainer is running should I see anything besides the main screen with the Exit button at the bottom?
Do I have to restart the game or a new Campaign?

Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like its your game really... if are sure you got hte right version it should work.. it works on my pc.

is your game the english/us version? dunno if the trainer works for other languages/versions if they are different...

and are your game having any other problems except for the non working cheats? like crashes and missing contents/bugged contents

No, no other problem. I think it's the English version - everything is in English -- I did not purchase it, someone gave me the game to try it. No other problems. I did go back and review the upload again -- I did not disable my antivrus software, but the version did upgrade to 1.4 from 1.0. I enjoy the game very much and the cheats would really help me with Hill 192.

Maybe it won't work with the CD I was given.. maybe I need to go buy it???? I just wanted to try it first....

hmm well if you got any firewall thats having full system program control (when its asking you about every application thats trying to run) or some anti-spyware tool thats doing the same it may be the reason why the trainer does not work.. if such a program is denying the trainer from accessing the game, you should look in those programs settings and allow the trainer...

anyway have you tried the older trainers on older game versions?
just curious if you maybe tried the 1.0, 1.2 or 1.3 trainer... if so did they work?

of course to test those youll need the proper game versions as well

if neither of those work aswell then im almost sure that some 3rd party application is blocking the trainer.

on my system my ZoneAlarm Suite firewall is asking for the trainer to access the game... i have to allow the trainer before using it.

umm if your game is an illegal copy then we should probably not discuss it here...

but if its the original you borrowed to try then its should work...

note also that only v1.0 checks for the disc... 1.2 to 1.4 does not have disc check, so if you have 1.4 then you can run the game without the disc so it wont be the problem

I jumped right from version 1.0 to version 1.4 -- did not try any of the other trainers in between... someone just gave me a copy to try it and see if I liked the game.
I will check my settings.

no problem, but anyway if you like it hten buy it... game creators deserve your support.. afterall thats what paying the programmers to make you new games
