i have the mummy and hes roaming around in the desert and in my room. what do i do after that?

Have you talked to him? If Avra Cadavra Has already been kicked out the the shrine room will have an Egyptian God that you can feed goards to. When you do that it replenishes the mummy's life source. After that he's just another character in the game.
