hiya, I am not really a gamer, certainly not hard core, I play stuff like tiger woods o6 golf, I had need for speed underground and I have completed that but obviously as i said, i am not a true gamer so only played it on easy mode, I have just bought need for speed carbon but not played it yet, i see from the message board it is totally different from underground, can anybody give a guy like me any tips so i can still enjoy playing this new version, I am not a competitive gamer, I just have fun, thanks for any advice an sorry to all the real gamers for wasting your time.

hey no probs. Im mainly on this site for this specific purpose - to help ppl. For this new game, Carbon, you have a history and you are well known in the city. 5 years ago a big race occured in which there were high stakes. You win, of course, but at a price - the cops got envolved. The complications of the cops meant that you were forced to flee town. Now, 5 years later, you come to rightly collect wats yours.

But its never that cut and dry. You race a former cop from the last game, cross, who wanted to settle the score with you from Rockport (the previous game's city). This meant that your ride gets totalled and, as ever, you have to start in that joyful, familiar position of total newbie and work your way ground up. Your old "friends" Darius and Nikki, arrive just in time to save you form the wrath that is Cross. They then offer you three cars to go from zero to hero. Theyy are the Camaro SS, Alfa Romeo Brera and the Mazda RX-8. personally, it is a matter of character which one you choose. I chose the brera, as the exotic way is for those who are not amaong the weak-willed. The ones with hearts of steel go for the camaro and the opposite end go for the RX-8. The Brera is the better car all-round and it goes like stink. Not to metion it is the most sonorous car in the game.

So choose the brera at the start, then get a Cayman S when you unlock it. Afterwards, preferably a Gallardo or a Murcielago.

well i think they have brung back the way the cars handled in the undergrounds rather than most wanted which was a good move , the only real changes they have made are you have crew members in races which wil help you out when u need them , u will have blockers scouts and drafters ( i only use blockers and scouts)and the car classes , muscle , exotic and tunner , all have there advantages and disadvantages(tunners - handle very well , muscles - high top speeds and accleration ,exotics - are kind of in the middle but are still very powerfull).also they have brung a new style of drifting and the only advice i can give you on this is take it easy at first untill you get ur own feel for it i would personly advise u to drift with muscles only also drifting is all about how long u can keep the same drift and try to keep ur speed up as much as possible as thats how u get high points, if u need any more help with the game just ask mate , take it easy . kane

hey, thanks for the advice i really appreciate it, i had a quick look at the game before I saw your reply and I'd chosen the car you suggested so that was cool, the game is so different to the need for speed 2 that i had, seems so much more involved, maybe i will just have to take time to get used to it, i couldn't find an easy med or hard option either... that worries me as I said i am not a true gamer and just play for fun, thanks again for the info guys, it's very much appreciated.
