I am having trouble completing the Kessel battle in space. I am to disable the space shuttles and rescue the prisoners but I keep destroying them. Does anyone know how to complete this misson?

to do the kessel level I made a fleet out of the sundered heart and 27 y-wings, grab a bunch of y-wings (not all of them) and use there ion cannon specail ability to disable 1, then do the other 2 then use the sundered heart and move near them to save them,
