I think religion is all about the point where there is afterlife, being reborn, ressurected or whatever.

People need to hang on to something...need to belive that there is something more than this tough life, they need hope. And even when all hope is lost, they will still have this one hope their religion gives them.

I belive there is something you could call a God. but I don't belive in church. Cause in my life, the church has dissapointed me a lot.

i think in a way religion does keep peace but you always get the "extremists" who use religion as an excuse to do what the hell they want, then get away with it because they have stated that it was a religious cause, it is a well known fact that people always have been and always will be afraid of what they don't understand, can anyone tell me if in any religion or if it is written in any scriptures or bibles that there god or whatever tells them to go out and destroy/ kill other men woman and children or start wars for the good of the cause because if it does then they should say "hey this isn't for me i thought religion was being humane to each other live and let live and all that, no person has the right to take another life so perhaps the extremists are afraid because they don't understand what there reliogion is all about, if we did have one religon you will always get the ones who will break out from the flock and try to set there own faction up, it's human nature i'm afraid.

Human nature is.....get rich, do whatever you want.....why would people who gave their lives to the church be any different.

Church has become, a vendor where you ''buy your ticket into heaven''.

If the Vatican had a garage sale they could cure world hunger or wipe out diseases etc.
But instead they sit on priceless works of art and billions of dollars, greedy greedy greedy. Not a church I want to be part of thank you very much.

you and raven speak of these incorruptable or infoulible teachings...but who is in the position to say that they are incorruptable? did god himself tell you? or is that just what YOU believe from circumstantial evidence

    Errr, the Catholic Church.

But again this ties into a specific religion. As much as I would like to try and avoid that ont his topic...the Catholic Church declared them to be 'incorruptibles' and 'infallible' teachings.

Again they are infallible because they were created and haven't changed the slightest way since they were created. Once they do change (which...they won't) I will see otherwise.

And they are incorruptible because they have been buried for hundreds of years with no sign of decay. No they are not wax dolls. Science has declared this to be true...I believe. Past out understanding as humans and proof that God exists. (Maybe in not so exact words.)

    P.S -Neo7

I am very dissapointed that you have removed one of my precious (most likely long) post.

For the future if you deem necessary...please only remove part of the post, not the whole thing. Especially if it is long and address many other quotes.

And if you can remember, please tell me what I said wrong so I don't do it again and that I can make a new post with the same...'stuff' (with a lack of better words.) Thanks.

The Neo7 part- Don't worry you can see it in my reply to it...

"1st how do you get that they would be nicer As well so you are trying to say that if there was no religion that people would not kill as much of course not the killings would increase no one would be scared of god cause they wouldn't think he existed"

They would be nicer because they wouldn't disturb other people by hanging up ornaments all over the place. I'm not saying crime would decrease if religion did not exist, I'm saying it would stay the same.
