id like to speak about islam because it is my religion.
the book of islam (the holy quran) is words that god said to the prophet mohammad through an angel called jibreel and it said that god or Allah protects the quran and it cannot be changed.

    "You're kidding, right?"

No...I'm not. Can you please tell me who or what created the miracles?

"Again you're twisting my words and assuming. That's a big no-no in a debate. I did not choose that path for that reason alone. I am pointing out that it is rather absurd how the result came out, but I was Agnostic well before that point."

Fair enough...but perhaps you need to look at the situation froma different side. Perhaps you need to look at it from the side of the drunk driver. Perhaps the drunk driver became sober and then prevented other drunk driving acciedents because of his mistake.

I always wondered how one man was able to start a very popular religion by using his claims of having a vision.

Many people in the past have has visions contributed to the Catholic Church, but none of them decided to start their own religion, instead, they gave their credit to God through the Catholic Church.

Also, would you be so kind as to share at least one unexplainied and documented miracle contributed to the Islam faith?

And, let me ask you as to why you believe that Mohammed had a vision by Allah? Why? Is it just the way you were raised? Or is there some knowledge I'm not aware of?

I have an answer for the suffering in the world.

And it is that it is necessary for the proper growth of mankind.

Think of God as a mother and mankind as the child.

Is the mother going to do everything in her power to prevent all types of suffering for her child? The answer is no.

God is not going to disregard the suffering of the world because it is needed for the growth of compassion. Without suffering, there would be no need for compassion and mankinds heart will turn to stone.

Hi,forgive me for butting in, but firstly i am an athiest, agnostic or whatever it's called but i did a bit of reading up on the subject of different religions/beliefs (no i'm not saying i'm a specialist in this area) but it has been pointed out that thousands of years ago there wasn't any of the scientific proof that we have today i.e everything has a logical explanation, now i know someone is going to go down the line of ghosts on that matter but as i say way back then anything that couldn't be explained was down to a god, like when people first looked up at the stars and thought "where did they come from" or they started to become aware of all things around them they used to go to the sages, seers, prophets or whatever and they were so called because they were the first ones who gave an explanation by saying "a god put them there so we must appease the gods" the greeks were well known for this that's why in greek mythology there are so many gods and i suppose (probably shouldn't say that cuz someones gonna rip into me for it)someone realised it was easier to believe in just one god than many. D.R i hope i got your backin on this lol.

Yeah....people before explained what they didn't understand as an act of divine, act of god.
Does what you said suggest that anyone who was different, had greater understanding of things, or who was more intelligent was considered a prophet?a god?

I never said either of those statements nor do they apply to me [exception of 2nd one] (if I did then kindly point to me where I did). I do not believe in God as I have developed my own complex ideas/concepts considering the Universe that wouldn't support the idea of a God. I merely stated that little memory as I thought it rather ironic on not only the damage done to the student, but his friends and family as well (hell if you went to the school during that event, you'd have an idea).

Besides...I hate Religion in general, all its ever done for me is waste my time as well as create major setbacks in my life.

    Unless you meant,

'I'm Agnostic, have been Agnostic, oh and let me tell you a sad story that has nothing to do with me being Agnostic, nor do I blame God for killing the child.'

Then I stand by what I said.

Oh, and please do tell us your words of wisdom with this 'concept' you came up with...because it obviously must be better than 2000 years worth of wisdom. *Sarcasim*

Believe what you want to believe...jeez, this world would be in chaos if everyone lived like that.

    Thank God for unity.

I just wanted to step in here and say that the world is pretty chaotic at the moment, so i don't really know what you meant by the last bit...

I'll believe in God when 1 and 1 are 5

i think if we went back far enough we would get to the people who were called the "great thinkers" and anything they said was fact, in a way they were the clever people of the time, like today if a doctor said you had chickenitus scabbyheadus you would believe him, because he knows about the human body same as back then the "thinkers" new about things (or so people thought) so if anyone went to them and asked something like why is it dark if they didn,t know the true answer then it would be down to a god probably knowing that no one would dare question the answer ,if you catch my drift, have you ever wondered what the religious area would be like if the great thinkers knew the correct answers then. ???????
