" can tell you one thing for damn sure- I do believe there is a God and there is a Heaven and there is a Hell, and depending on how you've lived your life you will end up in either place."

Why? Why do you believe this? Have you ever thought about why people [humans] tend to believe in deities? Perhaps there is some sort of imbalance in the human brain that causes "belief". Think about it, most humans "believe" in something, but it is only those that overcome their craving for belief that achieve true enlightenment. Throughout history people have believed in spirits, Gods etc. I believe everyone wants to believe in something because their brain dictates this to them. Therefore there are people that fill this belief gap with a "God" (Whichever it may be) and some simply ignore it. I haven't looked into the Psychological side of religion, but I will by the end of the year and I hope to enlighten you when I know more.

And here is another question: If "God" , Heaven and Hell really existed, would "God" want people in Heaven that truly believed in him or would he accept those that just said they believed in him in order to get into heaven?

It's something you obviously don't get man...faith, it's all about having faith. How can you live your life without it? I was just putting it out there for the guy that created this topic, seemed like he needed help or something...anyways, nothing can shake my beliefs, not you, no one...Jackal

    Good for you Jackal...

But yeah, if anything, -for all the Atheists- push away your pride and admit that there is another power other than that and higher than that of humans. We have 'things' that humans cannot create, explain...a higher power with higher logic outside of our logic must have created the 'things.'

Who would want to take the risk of eternal damnation because of pride.

And saying 'God exists' and that's it is not enough. God will know who truly beleives.

Why risk eternity? With your reluctance to see something beyond our logic as humans?

    I second that...

The miracles alone are not enough to prove that God exists.

During my Sophomore year in High School, a brilliant and moral student that I know was Christian died in a car accident which he had nothing to do with the cause of it. The drunk driver who did hit him survived.

A bit unfair that the good Christian believer died while the drunken outlaw lives.

For the record, I'm Agnostic now.

So...you blame God for his death and not the drunk driver...that doesn't make too much sense.

Christians (or those who believe in God for that matter) aren't invincible...

And you changed your views on God because of someone's irresponsibillity...wow.

I never said either of those statements nor do they apply to me [exception of 2nd one] (if I did then kindly point to me where I did). I do not believe in God as I have developed my own complex ideas/concepts considering the Universe that wouldn't support the idea of a God. I merely stated that little memory as I thought it rather ironic on not only the damage done to the student, but his friends and family as well (hell if you went to the school during that event, you'd have an idea).

Besides...I hate Religion in general, all its ever done for me is waste my time as well as create major setbacks in my life.

    And I third it.

"my religious affiliation has nothing to do with pride...it has more to do with proof"

What do you see the Incoruptables(sp?) as then? The weeping statues?

You insist on not beleiving until it is proved, and when proof is offered, you either change the subject or shun it with either false or unresearched information.

If you want to be a skeptic fine, but when you're given logical proof, think about it and don't just type an un-thought out counter.

you and raven speak of these incorruptable or infoulible teachings...but who is in the position to say that they are incorruptable? did god himself tell you? or is that just what YOU believe from circumstantial evidence

    Unless you meant,

'I'm Agnostic, have been Agnostic, oh and let me tell you a sad story that has nothing to do with me being Agnostic, nor do I blame God for killing the child.'

Then I stand by what I said.

Oh, and please do tell us your words of wisdom with this 'concept' you came up with...because it obviously must be better than 2000 years worth of wisdom. *Sarcasim*

Believe what you want to believe...jeez, this world would be in chaos if everyone lived like that.

    Thank God for unity.
