While I agree with most of the above I must maintain that it is quite difficult to get 50 3k FAQs admitted.
lol yea... easier to just write 3 50k ones.
OK... I have the status names fixed now (I hope) ... sorry about that guys... the calculation was working in reverse order.
Should be:
2 years = Cheatmaster
3 years = Elder
4 years = Sage
It would be so much better if the "who's online" thingy is working again.
you guys are discussing how to achieve a rank for authors that doesnt exist
We're discussing if it should exist, and if it did how to achieve the rank.

I didn't know Sage was fourth.

That makes me happy.
I personally think the rank merging would be great.

Nah, it should be the amount of FAQ's no the "length" of the FAQ's. A FAQ is a FAQ every FAQ helps a player of the game you wrote it on somehow. So the more FAQ's you write the more you help the player.
Heh I said FAQ 6 times there.
Eh..7.
But 3k....even upwards of 15k isn't that much detail.
Are you going to give the most credit to the member who quickly wrote up 10 5k FAQs? (50k)
Or the member who took his/her time to write one detailed FAQ that is 100k?
In the Authors profile, one can see ten FAQs and go, 'Man! That must have taken a long time to make...ten FAQs...'
But then that same person can look in another profile page and see on FAQ which is longer than the others combined and not care, thinking that it is 'only' one FAQ. Which is actaullity it is, but longer, more detailed then the other ten combined.
I have 3 FAQs that total over 180k. Those three FAQs took quite a long time to write...when I had a lot of time on my hands, that is. I take pride in my work minus the spelling errors that you may find in there.
