Rainbow Six: Vegas Message Board  

Alright I'm on the level where you have one teamate try and open the spillways at the dam. The other teammate is holding behind cover and guarding the direction he is facing. There are 2 big doors that roll up and have hostiles in them. One is behind me & it has around 2 hostiles in it, but it opens about 6 sniper shots after the other one. The other one has at least 7-9 hostiles maybe more. I can't beat this level and I am tired of failing. I don't die, but the control room gets grenaded every time.

Every sniper shot I take counts. To begin with this is what I do. I stand in a corner and wait until the door furthest from me opens. I procede to snipe 6 hostiles. I then zoom out and throw a grenade into the room that just opened up and it kills the 2 hostiles in there. But before I can get ready to start sniping again the control room gets fragged. I've tried just taking out the hostiles from the furtest door, but the other 2 behind me always shoots me while I'm sniping or the room still gets fragged.

What do I need to do????????????????????

Nevermind, I got it a while back. Thought I had done posted it but oh well. Fun game and I can't wait until the sequel comes out.

Hey man...I am stuck on that same section on realistic. I have no idea how to beat it, I have dies like 25 times. Do you hav any pointers on how you did it?

Make sure you have the sniper rifle that can fire multiple times very quicly. A rifle with a clip instead of single-shot. Take a position close to the door behind you. In the corner lie and wait until the door way in front of you opens. One-hit-kills. Kill about 4-6 of them. Try not to miss. Quickly change weapons and turn around. Kill the guys coming from behind you. Don't let the guys in front of you get too close or they'll throw grenades at the little booth your protecting. Throw a grenade at them and shoot the rest.

You will probably have to do it a few times before you get it.

I think I may have done this too. I shot 4-6 enemies from the furtherest door and threw a grenade at them. And then I killed the guys from behind. If you don't beat this part, just post and I'll replay the level and see what I do to beat it.

Oh, and if you think this part is tough just wait. it gets a looooooooooooooooot tougher.

The easiest way to beat the mission is not by sniper - thats pretty much the hardest way - i used to do it.

Here's the easy way:
At kit selection choose an M249 LMG and an assault rifle of your choise. But for other items choose the following:
C4
Hand Grenade

Order Jung to hack the controls and while he moves place C4 at the first gate (the one were the first horde comes from). Wait until there all grouped together then detonate it - this kills all of them. If someone survives spray them wit the M249. Then run towards the corner by were you blew the first guys up and place another C4 charge for the second horde and detonate by Jung.
Turn Around!!
Easily drop the two guys who come behind you and then you can just simply beat the mission from there.

If anyone survives the C4 spray them down with your M249 LMG. Or lob some frag grenades there way.

ALSO::: IF YOUR OTHER GUY (NOT JUNG) IS WOUNDED HEAL HIM QUICKLY AND MAKE SURE TO AVOID THE ENEMIES VOLLEY OF FRAGS!!!

PS:::: The rest of the mission was dead simple - took me two more tries at max to beat it especially the part with the missile. Also it's been a couple of weeks since i last played so my info on were they come out may be a bit off - but i still used the strategy
