Well, I'm not supposed to be on right now. I didn't even do any research since my last post. I just want to comment real quick on ZD's post.

I think you mean Allah, not Mohammad. Allah is the God of the Muslims, Mohammad was merely a prophet (similar to Moses or Abraham I guess) who was given a vision by Allah to start the Muslim religion.

And I have also considered the possibllity of other humans out there in space who put animals and people on this planet just for fun or something. But that still doesn't explain the miracles that even scientists cannot explain.

Just look at the miracle of Juan Diego. The fresh roses in the middle of Winter. The image of the Virgin Mary that was on his shirt has been examined by many scientists. They cannot explain it because it is NOT a painting, or woven thread, or a picture or ANYTHING. Inexplainable by or logic and understanding. AND if it wasn't a miracle by God, it would have been decayed right now seeing on how it is hundreds of years old. AND there is an image of 12 people in the pupil of the Virgin Mary. You need a microscope to see this. Immpossible for humans to create. And don't tell me that some cells came to be and formed with eachother to make a really small painting with mutant strong cells walls to keep it from decaying.

Then there is the miracle of Padre Pio who suffered from the stigmata. Some say that they were self inflicted wounds, but that doesn't explain the pint of blood that was lost each day, he would have been dead if it wasn't a miracle.

Then there is the miracle of a woman who ate nothing but the Eucharist for forty or so years and lived.

There are many more miracles, miracles that science or the theory of evolution cannot explain other than the fact that there is a God. I'll be back later with more.

Why don't you guys (who don't believe in God) tell me some interesting miracles (that no one can locgically explain mind you) created by evolution.

"You're funny. Give me some facts and proof of the Big Bang. Give me RECORDED DOCUMENTS from 15 million trillion billion years ago."
The best document is probably the Universe itself. How do we know about the Big Bang? The idea is used because of the so called "Red shift", which scientists have observed. This means that other suns are moving away from ours, meaning the Universe is continously expanding at a faster and faster rate. This has been calculated backwards and gave us the approximate time at which the Universe started to spread outwards. That time is not 6000 years ago.

"but not the Church itself, for if it were, then Christ would be corrupt."
Have you ever met Christ? How do you know he wasn't corrupt? History is written by the victors, anything could have been written by any loony in the Bible and people would believe it.

"And actually it is a 6000 year old book. But that is just semantics."
Guess what, there are recordings far older than that, take ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, they date back far longer than 6000 years. So...did 'God' write these up before he made the Universe?

"Then what does it mean? Yes, most died, but all that means is God performed some miracles for the faithful perhaps to strengthen our faith."
But how does God then determine? I assume you're talking about the all-loving OT God. I would call the miracles Jesus performed as very arbitrary. I would agrue that a God that performs miracles at all is not worth worshipping. How can a good God solve a trivial problem of wine running out at a wedding and yet would not save the thousands starving in Sudan right now? If he was doing them then to strengthen our faith, why doesn't he perform a miracle now that so many people are breaking away from the church?

Excellent, you pretty much summed up my beliefs on Expansion Theory.

An the Egyptian documents are from about 8000 years ago. Something like that. I don't want to sound disrespectful to your god or anything, but the "God can do anything" line is too general to prove anything.

    EDIT: Spelling error.

I think people have the right to think what they want to think.
A persons thoughts are really all they have that is truly theirs.
My idea of Creation is different than both ideas, but its just a way to answer the questions people have had for centuries.

    True, true.

Scientists don;t know everything (and never will) but there are some mysteries that may be better left unknown...such as if jumpnig into a boiling acid bath will kill you...

I believe in the Creation/Evolution theory. It bassicaly is that God intended animals to envovle into what they are today and will keep evovling to his plan!

A mirical which happens everyday is that, sometimes when a baby is born they are born with no heart beat and our dead, so they store them somewhere. But sometimes when a doctor or nurse or someone walks by they hear crying, they open the door and see that the baby is alive.

Scientist can't explain this and therefor it is a very very great miricle, which can only explain that there has to be a more suprime being.

    ZD-

"I still believe in God, like i said earlier, but i question why he doesn't solve big tragedies going on today in the world."

Yes, there has to be a God, it is silly to think otherwise. But regarding the tragdies in the world, this subject is very deep. However, when one thinks of the meaning of suffering, we can only look to more questions. Could God be doing this for a purpose, giving us a chance to show compassion? What if God destroyed all the suffering in the world? Just imagine on how long would it take for our hearts to be void of compassion. Not too long.

"No use in worrying about it while your living, because once you die, you find out the real truth. "

So you don't think that God will judge you when you die?

    Shibby-

    "Miracles dont prove 'god'"

Then what do they prove? If we can't and never will be able to explain them, again, what do they prove?

    Zeth-

"Scientists don;t know everything (and never will) but there are some mysteries that may be better left unknown..."

Of couse they will never know everything, because these miracles are beyond our understanding of human logic. The only other explanation is that there is a God.

---For all of those who don't believe in God, I am putting you to the test-

I want you take your two hands and put them in front of you. You should agree that there is 'nothing' in between your two hands.

With that nothing, I want you to create something.

And once you do create something out of nothing, I will start to consider your beliefs.

I'm sorry but I think it's silly to force your beliefs on someone else.
People are free to express their opinion but not judge other people's beliefs.

    thank you.
Trust is a fragile thing. Once trust is lost, it can be impossible to recover. Those we're closest to can betray us,and total strangers can come to our rescue. In the end, most people decide to trust only themselves. It really is the simplest way to keep from getting burned.
