    Open config.ini in the main directory and scroll to the bottom and find:

    [INIT-PLAYER-0]
    HasResidence = 1
    Workshops = 0
    Money = 10000
    Married = 0

    You can change how much money you start with and whether you are married already or not. And if you choose to be married then you can also add: Childs=(# of kids).

    Below that you can also edit the starting stats of the rival families.

    If anyone else notices anything you can edit in any of the files, post it here.

    Enjoy.😵

    hi,

    JimmyK, thx very much for the tip, though I haven't tried it yet.

    fongyang0, you'll find the config.ini file in the folder where The Guild 2 (or TG2- Pirates...) is installed, probably in :
    c:\Program Files\The Guild 2...

    if you can't find it, right-click in your game's shortcut (start menu and/or desktop) and choose "Properties".
    you'll then get your game's path.

    good luck and fun

    After I'm done editing the ini file info for residence, workshops, money, married etcetera and go to save it... How do I save it?- what is the encoding type, do I "Save As" etc.? I tried to just click save and it told me it couldn't save it in that location. Please explain to me how I go about saving this config.ini file after I'm done editing the info. Thanks in advance!

    If you do not run Notepad as Administrator, you are not allowed to save files in your Program Files. So, either open notepad as admin (Click 'start', type "notepad", right click the icon that appears and select "Run as administrator" and open the file like that.

    Alternatively, temporarily drag Config.ini to your desktop, edit it there and save it, and then drag it back into the original folder.
