close range:small chainsaws
long range:real mega blaster (gotten after getting the the genocider acheivement AND GETTING AN ENDING AFTER THE ACHEIVMENT then in the security look BEHIND the air ducts to get your prize dont go THROUGH the air ducts) they will respawn every time u come in they security room without it

I've found my favorite weapon... the EXCAVATOR ... And has anybody killed that guy with the shotgun in the huntin' shack yet? This guy sucks. What's the easiest way to kill him???

Grab a Mannequin Torso or Small Chainsaw before you go to him. Stand behind one of the displays and wait for six shots. He will always reload after six shots. Run up to him and beat him with the Mannequin Torso or wail on him with the Small Chainsaw. If you have the Small Chainsaw, just keep hitting him. If you have the Manniquin Torso, you might get hit, but you will damage him greatly. If he's not dead yet, wait for another six shots while waiting behind a store display then go beat him some more. It should only take about two rushes with the Mannequin Torso.

Also, I haven't tryed this yet, but I imagine the Hedge Trimmers' charge attack would work good too. Get those from Crislip's or McHandy's Hardware. The Mannequin Torso is everywhere, just destroy the Mannequins. It's an underated weapon.

Now I'm at the... I think 7th case. The one where you have to get the five bombs in the maintenance tunnel... what's the easiest way to get the bombs. Here's what I've tried:

1. I've drove the cycle into there.
2. I've tried getting the bombs out of order and got all but 1.
3. I've gotten the heavy machine gun and died before I could use it.

Do you have any suggestions? (like, should I face carlito? And if so,what's the best weapon to use to kill him?)

Yes, you very much should face Carlito - that's the easiest way. If you have the Small Chainsaw, rush up to the driver's door of his vehicle and start hitting him. The Mannequin Torso should work well too or a Katana maybe. He will most likely retreat and will be back again, but you can finish him off when he returns. You get an extra cutscene for doing this also.

Try to collect at least two or three bombs before defeating him since he will leave you after you attack him enough. It is possible to defeat him in one attacking though. After the cutscene, when you defeat Carlito, Frank will start near the white car in the east portion, so just head east and find the car then continue collecting the bombs.

Also, once that case is over, be sure to go back to the area where you find the Maintenance Tunnel Key (middle warehouse) for a very well done extra cutscene.

I managed to beat the game, but was the helicopter guy supposed to get eaten?

i am having some trouble getting the true ending...how do you go about this?
