Can anyone tell me if you have to have the Animal Crossing game for the game boy in order to get to the island? Or do you just have to have the animal crossing game in the game cube? Thanks in advance!

you dont need the game for the handheld. you just need either a gba or a gbasp and the linking cable that can connect it to the gamecube. and yeah, you do kinda need to put the disc in the gamecube.
