With Starcraft 2 coming up, I don't think Blizzard will be working that hard on other games. Nearly every game Blizzard produces instantly becomes a Classic/Game of the Year Award... Everyone expects a lot from Blizzard and I'm sure they don't want to disappoint.
Hellgate London wasn't really made by Blizzard, just a bunch of former Blizzard North employees. IMO it wasn't that great of a game.
I don't think Blizzard will be creating another MMO anytime soon. From what I see, Blizzard has over 9 million subscribers for World of Warcraft. Why would Blizzard want to create a new MMO when they are still profiting from WoW?
I personally would like to see Starcraft Ghost. D3 would be cool too but for now, I think Blizzard will stick to SC2.
As for D3 characters, I really don't know. D2 had some classes I wasn't accustomed to. I'm sure Blizzard have new things to add to their games that no one expects. Then again, it is hard to have a lot of different characters to play since the more you make, the harder it is to balance them. Vanguard SOH is a great example. There were 15 classes and 22 races and it was an unbalanced and poorly executed game (not to mention countless other flaws).
Blizzard will always be profiting from WoW. It's a subscribe only game. They could release this last expansion and work on Diablo III. But it's not likely because of Starcraft II. They want to release it later this year, but if that doesn't happen that means they are still bug-fixing and balancing the game.
Starcraft Ghost was abandoned because of the next-gen consoles. That is a widely known fact. I was too looking forward to it, but it's just one of those things that will never take shape. Why? Because everything they have is for last-gen. SCII will come out later this year or early next, and then the next WoW expansion, and then the future is open, because they don't need a whole big ass team to build a patch for one game.
Hellgate London was not a Blizzard release. That was Bill Roper's "let's take advantage of the fact that I own part of the Diablo copyright and remake it in a totally different perspective and put Flagship Studio's logo on it."
