How do you earn enough money for a good house. I bought the house in Bravil which is a dump and that cost me 4000. Then you have to furnish it which costs a fortune. To get the money I had to clean the shelves of the mages guilds. The shelves are absolutley bare now and you need 25 000 for one of the houses. how do i earn the money without cheating (Im a good boy(Honest))

i have the same problem and the same house. its a beauty, lol. i get by by going into caves and crap, kill bandits or people and take their items and sel them. further down the game u play the more money u make. for an example once ur arena champ u can do weakly tournaments for money, also when ur head of dark brotherhood/black hand u can do weekly killings where u dont have to do anything but tell ur servent who to kill. those r good easy ways but u have to be further in the game.

a good way to earn money without cheating is to be a thief and rob everyone of those rich folks on their jewels and silver stuff..
to buy a house in oblivion standard cities you need to have good relationship with the count/countess and ask about buying a house in their town. you can download playermade houses that gets placed in the wild though.. some are good some are bad..

Doing quests for Guild of Fighters, Mages guild, Dark Brotherhood, almost every quest will get you some gold. The most money you will get playing for Thieves guild, having the invisibility or chamelon spell. Steal, sell for gold, recive gold for quests, and your quest is stealing. Working your way to the top rank of the guild will get you regular income in some guilds. Arena is also a good way. there is also the betting if you like the risk.
