Beating sephiroth on the first was a friggin PAIN IN THE ANAL
These reaction commands just helped me ALOT I got lucky plent of times
took me 3 tries

Whoa, no healing? Crap... I must suck then. I was using the Decsisive pumpkin. I'm not sure if that's how you spell the descisive, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
