how can you tell what version number you have?

Go to ADD/ReMove programs, look for age of empires 3.Instead of unintalling the game,click on "about" or some stuff like that.U can find it in the left hand pane.Look for yur version number there!

Simpler method than that. Run the game and click on ABOUT in the main menu and the version is listed right at the top.

pjlambo is right clcik on otions then about is the easiest method in my opion
