what? its not spelt colour in the united states. its in the dictionary as "color" its just small differences, neither of them wrong, but technically neither are right as well. It all depends on where you are
that's because there was a group of literary... people (some say geniuses, others say destroyers of the english language) who tried to make english more phonetic after america won the war of independance... basically both are right in different places, but noone outside of america spells it without the u.
