This is the only topic where suggestions for sticky topics on other boards should be made. Sticky topics are ment for Game Boards Only.

If you think a topic deserves to be stickied or unstickied, make a post here. Include the topic URL and what it is about the topic that is important enough that all users of the board should read it or why the topic is no longer relevant. However, before submitting a topic for a moderator or administrator to consider for stickiness, please read the following:

    1) First and foremost, do not clutter up this topic with unnecessary posts. If you support someone else's post here, great. It is not necessary for you to post saying that you agree with them though. It is also not necessary to nominate the topic again. A topic nominated once will be looked at. A topic nominated five times will be more annoying than useful, and will likely subject you to being moderated. Make absolutely sure the topic you're nominating hasn't already been nominated. If a topic is declined stickiness, do not argue the point. The person reviewing the nomination may detail what parts of the topic need to be changed in order for a remade version to be stickied, or they may outright decline the request. Remember that their decision is final when they decline a sticky request, and once it is made please end all discussion about it.

    2) Now, the topics you are suggesting should be important enough that every user who goes to the board could benefit from reading them. For game boards, this generally means Q and A's over a broad range of topics, help sections through persistent trouble spots, and maybe some lists of relevant monsters, items, spells, etc thrown in for flavor. (Note that lists by themselves generally aren't sticky material, including "Glossary of Terms" list topics). For games that have yet to be released, pre-release FAQ's should be as thorough as possible and not just cover when you think the game is coming out, and who the main character is. Bear in mind that while quality is the most desired aspect, quantity counts for a lot too. If the relevant portion of the topic is contained entirely in the first post, it probably doesn't need to be pinned for all to see. Keep the promoting of the message board itself to a minimum in the topic, keep the tone as anti-inflammatory as possible (i.e. nothing like "Read this or die n00bs", and ensure that there are no TOS violations in the topic (including making sure the topic title isn't in ALL CAPS) before submitting a topic for review.

    3) If a game board already has a sticky topic and you are trying to nominate another, make sure it sets itself apart from the topic already pinned. Unless you're the creator of the original sticky working to replace the old one, make sure the new topic covers different material than the existing sticky. More specialized guides may be stickied to augment an an existing general FAQ topic, but as always, quality reigns supreme. Whipping up a 5 question topic will only waste your time and ours.

    5) Now that you know what to suggest, here's some general guidelines on what NOT to suggest.

    - A) "Link" topics will never be stickied. Sure, there's a lot of cool wallpapers, mods, CAW's, and videos around there, but links change constantly. If the topic you wish to nominate is primarily links, be it a dozen or a hundred, don't even bother nominating it.

    - B) "Workshop" topics such as "Build my party", "Rate my custom car", "Ask all questions here", and topics dedicated to unique in-game challenges (no equipment, solo character, etc.) are not good sticky material. They traditionally have no material up front, have ever-changing content, and end up turning into social topics very quickly.

    - C) Topics that only cover one simple issue will never be considered. Topics solely about Final Fantasy 3 DS's relation to the SNES game, World of Warcraft's weekly server maintenance schedule, and so on are simply not sticky material in this universe, and most other ones. And no matter WHAT universe you live in, a topic about waxing your PSP does not deserve to be sticky.

    - D) No clan discussion topics will ever be pinned to aviod purge, pushed into the backlog, ect ever.

    6) Finally, be aware that there is likely to be a backlog for this topic. This will be normal. Everyone with the ability to sticky topics generally has a lot to do at any given time, and stickying topics isn't a huge priority. Everything will get looked at though, usually in bursts of posts. This is actually somewhat beneficial to the process, as topics that can't survive on their own merits for a couple weeks probably didn't need to be sticky anyway.

Remember, You can edit your posts, therefore "ver 2.0" of these topics are going to be turned down. If a topic needs to be updated, then edit your posts instead of making another topic to replace the old topic.

stickied on the condition that you elaborate on your points and add to your list if new questions are asked.

i need a sticky on the board Nintendogs about firemans hat... every one keeps on asking the same question... and it's about how to get the firemans hat and it's really annoying. so could you have it stickied and said:
You can't get a fireman's hat just because you want one. You have to have a bit of luck. Just take the dogs for walks and you will find it sooner or later.
