well, broaches and necklaces are pretty valuble and only a few medals.

at the begging Barley brings you a horse, if you take care of it when he comes back in a year you will be able to keep your horse. If you didnt then he takes it and storms off

Well if you are trying to get married or get one of the girls to like you, I would buy them something expensive like a necklace EXT. but if you want something for yourself get something else that you need or want. i got karen to like me by buying her tons of necklaces, then eventually using action replay to do so because i got lazy of winning horse races.
