not mechanically enhanced its been said over and over they were genetically enhanced to make them faster stronger and near indestructible there were 150 kids who were kidnapped and after the modification only 75 (1/2) of them survived most died a few lived but couldn't do anything Master chief aka Spartan 117 aka john was the first to get the MJOLNIR armor and nearly gave himself a concussion. the reason only the Spartans could use that armor is because they were stronger and faster than regular humans. when a regular soldier tried to use it he killed himself because he broke every bone in his body and destroyed his insides .... i read the books 14 times maybe all of you should reread them no offence to anyone... thanks
