L_P: While it IS true that damage moves the main ones that win fights and battles, some of the best combos involve non-damage moves to some extent.

Perish trapping - Perish Song + Mean Look
Poison trapping - Toxic + Mean Look + Confuse Ray/Rest/Baton Pass
Spiked psuedohazing - Spikes + Switch Pokemon + Roar/Whirlwind
Outrage - Safeguard + Outrage
The really annoying moveset - Thunderwave + Confuse Ray + Attract
99% Thunder - Rain dance + Thunder
1 Turn Solarbeam - Sunny day + Solarbeam
Espeonic Heal - Sunny day + Morning Sun
Curselax - Curse/Belly Drum + Rest + Earthquake + Submission
Out roaring the roarer - Curse + Roar (great for Extremespeed Arcanine sets)
Marrowak of Doom - Agility + Swords Dance + Baton Pass (a setup set to be passed onto Marrowak+Bone Club, not Marrowak's set itself)
Parasite - Spore + Leech Seed + Giga Drain
Parasite, Ghost version - Hypnosis + Nightmare + Dream Eater
OHKO Machine - Rest + Sleep Talk + Fissure + Horn Drill

As you can see, most of these sets require at least one support skill, if not wholly relying on them.
