Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Message Board  

San Andreas DOES NOT play on my playstation. I bought the game about a month after it came out and I was able to play until a certain point and it would give me a disk read error message, or it would tell me, in the game, that it was unable to read the GTA San Andreas disk.
I recently bought another copy of the game, hoping to be able to play THIS one. When I put the game in the console, it took me to the browser/system menu...I selected browser, and it gave me a disk read error (the very first time I tried to play a brand new copy!!). All of my other games work great...I only have problems with GTA SA. Has anyone ever heard this complaint before, and does anyone know how to fix it???

well the best I could do for you since I have no idea what is wrong, is get your ps2 checked out and if you have a game exchange around (if you have ever heard of it...) go there get your game cleaned and tell them your problem and see if they can do any thing for ya k? i hope I helped at least a little!

yep they'll fix your game for 3 bucks

it is the laser,there could be alot of problems with the laser,heres a few
1.laser is dirty.clean it
2.droped the ps2,damaged the laser.
3.you could have pushed the laser in by accident when putting in the game.
to repair the last two call sony customer support or sony technical support.

ya but if the other games worked i wouldnt think its the laser. idk. did u use ne cheats and saved on gta?

yeah i saved with cheats on the first cd i bought. but the second was brand new and it didnt work. i never even played once on the second cd i bought
