what spell is most effective on hm and can kill him before I DIE?

That's what I need to know too...

hey person!! I can help you!!! I finished it on our way to CO (we went by car so i had LOTS of time!) I went to the room DIRECTLY accross from the bathroom and I kept batteling the rats I think once I got the second verdimilios spell I was able to kill him.

follow the hints peeves gives. when he says "maybe a muggle is studying it" go to muggle studies. after that, itll say "try watching tv." search the rooms until you find a tv, then go into it and you will find the book. im not sure whether you have to fight something, because i did it a long time ago. make sure the book is returned to the library for 25 house points

its not too tricky actually if you make sure the trolls back is facing the big hole (he doesn't even have to be near it), then hit him when he raises his arms and roars. then run back a little until he does it again, keep hitting him in this way and eventually he will fall in the hole. Hope thats helpful.
