You guys apall me. Marth is better than Roy, there is no way around it. Maybe on the n00b level Roy will win out, but once you get up there Marth>Roy.
50 ft!??! I have over 4000 ft with C. Falcon, and I hardly play Home Run Contest. The world record is over 6000 ft.

Marth is not better than Roy, they are dependant on the player using them. Yes, Marths attackes hurt more at the top, but Roy has that ability with almost his whole sword,so overall, Roys attacks have more knoeck back. more knockback=more KO power. Roy falls faster too, meaning he is harder to star KO, and is a faster fighter in the air. Plus, his sword is longer.

Believe it or not, but Marth is actually more powerful than Roy, even if you DO compare BOTH of their sweetspots!
Roy is slower, and falling fast also means that his recovery and aerial game suck compared to Marth's. Marth also has way more grab range, and is much better at comboing. In a pro match, seeing a 60-70% combo from a Marth is very common, and no, don't think that anyone who gets stuck in such a combo is an idiot, because Marth can chain attacks quicker than you can recover from the stun of the attacks, and feed off them from just a siple move. Of course, it is possible to escape such comboes.

Saying that skill makes a difference makes choosing different charcters obselete. if a Roy and Marth of equal skill face off, Marth will win. He has the range, speed, priority, aerial game, sweetspot, wavedash, manuverability, and grab-game to destroy Roy. Playing a Marth will not neccesarily make you better, but he can let you do more.
(Note, computers are dumb****. They do not account for skill, or even worth metioning for that matter.)

Marth being floatie also makes him easier to juggle(didnt mention that, did you?) while marth can chain forward aerial attacks, Roy can do the same thing with normal aerial A attacks. Manuverablitiy is not all that matters in the are, if it was, you should be using jiggly as an exampl, not marth

marth is better than roy. Marth is faster, jumps higher and stronger overall. The fact is that roy ONLY has TWO attacks stronger than marth, counter and flare blade. But in a real pro battle, as roy you don't really use flare blade that much, and counter is useful, but it lasts only for a short period of time. Now for the stronger issue..., marth is sronger than roy if he hit with his sweet spot and he has more knockback. (ex.marth's F-smash, when hit with the tip and it makes that low earthquake sound, it has amazing damage and knock back)plus, marth has much better areial attacks, his F-air attack is one of the best combo attacks in the game, next to sheik's F-air, and his N-air is superior to roy's as well. Therefore, the final conclusion is that marth is greater than roy. But if you choose to be roy, that's fine, he is a good character, but doesn't match up to a top tier.
