Hey my mate!
You can set Steam in Offline-Mode, this way Monster Hunter Wilds runs as well offline, this way you can enjoy the "Singleplayer", but in the historie of Monster Hunter (World), I do remember, that there was an .EXE for exchange in the gamefolder, that .EXE was able to force the game into offline mode.
When I do run the game while steam is in offline-mode I get the "Connection-Error" in the game, so it seems working pretty well and my friends are unable to join me this way, so for me it seems like a trainer is not impossible with a singleplayer-mode.
I would in every situation advice you to decline the "Additional Datatransmission" to Capcom, to make sure that they don't get any corrupted informations of your files - 😉 you know.^^
EDIT: You could also setup Windows-Firewall Profiles, to Block Steam.exe and Steam-Web-Helper, to prevent the game going online.
