It does appear that something with the game (or the GameGuard/nProtect) has been updated. I have filed a request, but I'm worried now since it looks like I'm the only one who filed a report!
I'll wait to find out if I'm now missing a new step or something else - but after I hear the three beeps - nProtect Game Monitoring processes are killed but the game immediately crashes afterwards, followed by a GameGuard fatal error that indicates there is a "Pipe API error."
I am having a simliar issue. I hear he beeps however then the opening sequence runs and afterwards wont connect to server.
sounds like you are getting the 403 error message. Try running the game from steam
