Can this be the same reason i can no longer authenticate on linux using the steamdeck tool. If I put aurora in its won wine prefix for a game in faugus no problem aurora authenticates perfect. but if i use the old steamdecktool it no longer allows authentication. I have been going back & forth in email trying to resolve this but then i saw i am not only one having problems on linux with aurora now.

I did find a solution tonight using hermes ai agent for my steamdecktool unable to authenticate problem .
"The Problem: The official Cheat Happens Steam Deck Tool uses a native Linux wrapper (AuroraLauncher binary). This binary performs its own independent API handshake before it ever touches Proton or the Windows Aurora.exe. On many modern Linux setups, this native binary fails with an Unauthorized error (visible in the tool's internal logs), which blocks the game from ever launching. Additionally, it often points to an outdated or stub version of Aurora.exe.

The Solution (The "Universal Bridge" Method): Instead of using the failing native wrapper, we created a custom Steam Compatibility Tool that bypasses the login check and uses a verified Proton environment to launch both the game and a known-working, authenticated copy of Aurora simultaneously." After that I can now log into aurora again 😁😁

Hello, I’m a lifetime member and paid the $10 fee. Can anyone help me download the steam deck tool? The first post on this board and support directed me to the same page I used to buy the tool but I’m not seeing the download link. I only see that buy now link. I apologize in advance if it’s obvious, but I really appreciate the help.

I am sure I am missing something, but when opening the steamdeck tool, version 3.1.6.0, I just get "You are running Aurora Steamdeck Tool outside of Steam." I don't know what I need to do to open in Steam or to get it running with a game. If I open a game in desktop mode, the only way I can figure out to get back to the desktop is to quit. I know I am missing something, what do I need to do to get this running?

For the record, I normally do not use desktop mode.

Hello! Hope I am not posting anything that’s been already added in previous comments. Has anyone faced an issue with the Aurora app being partially or entirely unresponsive after navigating from a game to it?

I basically faced the following issues:
1. I was playing GTA 3 and when I navigated to the Aurora app to activate the trainer I noticed that clicking on a specific cheat was actually activating the one below the targeted one. I.e. you try to activate GOD mode, but you are actually activating the cheat below it. Same behaviour goes for the entire app.
2. I tried to use the Aurora app while playing GTA IV and the app was entirely unresponsive.

I am using the latest Steam OS, and for the Aurora I updated it the other day, but to be honest it’s behaviour was the same before that.

PS: By the way earlier the Aurora app was working for C&C Generals, and after the latest Steam OS updates the game started crashing. That’s just another observation.

I fixed it - I did not realize I was meant to go back into gaming mode and it would run from there.

This $10 USD steam deck tool makes me feel like an idiot.

I have it up and running on my Steam Deck (desktop mode) and when I launch Borderlands 4 through it - I am unable to alt tab or minimize BL4 to go back and see the trainer.

I have tried to download the remote aurora app which google results seem to indicate I can control a trainer via the app but this only seems to want to launch BL4 on my PC. I assume this remote option is only able to work with the full Aurora version and not my magical-yet-not-working SteamDeck Tool.

Seriously - why is this so freaking difficult. All I want to do is use trainers on my Steam Deck and so far after 3 hours all I've managed to do is waste my money and my time.

Several google results I've searched turn up ZERO guides on this.

Running the trainer and playing BL4 is essentially unplayable. FPS drops from 60 down to 20/30.
