The reason we only official support SteamOS is because we cannot install, run and troubleshoot every single linux distribution that exist or pops up. There are too many, way too many. And there will be even more in the future. And for Bazzite, well I just installed it in a virtual machine but:

    1. I cannot even install vmware tools. It simply fails
    2. I cannot even get AnyDesk to work correct

I don't know what the developers of this OS have done but if even other tools aren't work correctly, I'm not surprised SDT doesn't work either. I don't have time to troubleshoot this distribution further. I recommend you use SteamOS or Ubuntu. Or you wait until someone else using Bazzite can help you.

I have a log for you finally. can you look at it and tell me what is going wrong?

Offline mode (and offline keys) are not supported on Steamdeck or any linux distribution. Also disable process watcher in Aurora settings if that's activated.

The first issue is because ANY linux OS (including SteamOS) don't have WMI. On SteamOS anything that uses WMI is disabled by default so users don't receive such an error. The second issue is because the game is using .NET framework but the .NET framework helper DLL either fails to load or because the linux distribution doesn't properly support .NET pipes. SteamOS has similar issues with trainers and .NET based games.

As a reminder: if you use anything other than SteamOS, you do so at your own risk/responsibility. In case of problems you have to look for a solution on your own.

I'm hopeful you will help me find a solution as this is on my steam deck (steam deck oled) and given the amount I've spent, I'd at least like some sort of assistance here.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

No, these are things that Valve has to fix within Proton.

I’m having a strange issue when trying to run the trainer for Doom Eternal through Aurora on Steam Deck.

The trainer launches just fine but the mouse cursor is stuck. Even when I press the Steam button and try to move it, it immediately snaps back to the middle of the screen. I’ve tried all of the Steam Deck tool options such as forcing Aurora to the front/back etc and it hasn’t helped. Am I missing something obvious?

That sounds like the game has mouse focus. I know something similar on desktop games. The fix would be probably the same as on desktop, you must switch to the game window first and then back to the app or trainer.

Do you need the cursor to control the trainer? If that fails, you can also use our mobile app instead.
