Just now i got a forced update while starting aurora. It deleted all my saved favorites and login information. Why offer it if it isn't retained after an update?

Aurora doesn't touch your settings / favorites / login information on update. Settings are stored in %appdata%\Cheat Happens\Aurora
Either the settings were not saved at all or something else has deleted it.
//edit: Could also be that just loading the settings file has failed. Check the log file in Aurora folder.

I have a Global Settings.json file that is mostly empty. It seems to have been reset after login, as the login fields were empty and i had to populate them manually. The logs didn't reveal a failure in initialization. I haven't touched these folders. Maybe adding a backup mechanism is an idea.
Something that copies the settings file to a backup folder. But before that check in that backup folder for an existing settings file, looking in the file at the "RecentGames" and "FavoriteTrainers" lists. If those records in the "active" file are empty, copy the values from the aformentioned records from the backup file over to the "active" file.
Something like that. Even on a relogin, retain some settings.

You're the only one with that issue. At least the only one reported it. Under normal circumstances a backup mechanism isn't required, but you can always create one yourself if you want.
I still don't really know how that happened. It could be that saving or loading the setting has failed. But that should have been written to the log file.
Do you still have the problem? Or did that happened only once?
