Cheat Happens Giveaways

Here are some questions that people have been asking about the giveaway:


Q: How will it work?
A: When the giveaway begins, on this board (Cheat Happens Giveaways) we will start a new thread which each set of prizes, approximately every 10-15 mins depending on how fast the prizes go. There will only be 1 ACTIVE thread at a time (with the possibility of a BONUS thread). If you want to be eligible for the giveaway you must be logged into the site so that your name appears on our "who's online" list. We have created a small, lightweight version of this list (Link) that everyone can keep open as a popup window or in a separate tab which will not only make sure you stay logged in, but auto-refreshes every 5 mins so you can see your name on the list. This list is what we will pull the random winners from with each new contest thread. In each contest thread we will list the prize(s), who is eligible and then a list of winners. You will have approximately 10 mins to reply in the thread that you are "here" and claim your prize. Some threads may require additional info which will be clearly stated in the thread.

DO *NOT* SPAM THE THREAD OR YOU MAY FACE DISQUALIFICATION - ONE REPLY IS SUFFICIENT


Q: What if my name is called and I don't reply in time?
A: Threads will be locked after 10 mins. If you miss it, you miss it, but you will still be eligible for additional prize threads.
 

Q: Can I win more than once?
A: Yes, you may win as many times as your name is called. Only once PER THREAD however.
 

Q: Can I cheat the giveaway by making 500 fake free accounts to increase my chances?
A: All prizes and winners will be evaluated before the prize is given out based on multiple sets of criteria. If we have ANY suspicion that a winning account is a duplicate it will invalidate the win and could get your account permanently banned from the site. Just don't do it. Keep things fair for everyone. There are plenty of prizes to go around.
 

Q: When/How will I get my prize(s)?
A: Once the dust settles our staff will begin going through each prize thread verifying eligibility and then handing out each prize MANUALLY. It will take some time, so please be patient. We will post on the Giveaway board when the prizes from each thread have been given out and we will make every effort to do so as quickly as possible, but it is the holidays so please give us sufficient time. You WILL get your prize.
 

Q: Are there any restrictions on any of the prizes?
A: Some prizes will require a certain level of membership, but that is the extent of the restrictions. All prizes will be open to residents of all countries, including tangible prizes such as t-shirts, etc. We ship worldwide.
 

Q: What if I win something I don't want?
A: Either simply don't reply in the thread when your name is called or if it's something like a free game, you will have a chance after the giveaway to swap prizes with other members.
 

Q: Can I pick the game I want if I win a free game?
A: Yes, you will have the opportunity to choose a primary choice and a secondary choice from the games listed in the prize thread. It will be first come first serve so if it's already been taken by someone that replied ahead of you, you will be given a random game and as mentioned above, you will have the opportunity to swap it with another member after all the prizes have been handed out.

Q: What if I can't make it to the giveaway?
A: We are reserving approximately 1/4 of the total prizes for our "2nd Chance Giveaway" where we will award the prizes to random members that have entered into our 2nd chance giveaway form which will be posted some time after the contest is over.


Please note that we expect much higher than usual traffic so the site may become slow or even unresponsive at times. We may occasionally "reset" the site to clear it's memory in an effort to relieve some of the stress. If things become too bogged down to the point where it's affecting the giveaway we have a contingency plan in place where we will be taking regular snapshots of the who's online list and will simply pull the names after the site settles down where you will not be required to be present to win. You can help by not refreshing the site constantly. 10 minutes is plenty of time to respond if your name is called and we have plenty of prizes to go around.

Wondering...if I win a membership upgrades or Tier 7 status while I'm already fully upgraded can I give it to another member?

Absolutely but we will try and only pull names from the list that actually qualify for the prize.

I have some unclaimed rewards from spinning the wheel like custom rank or alias change, would it be possible to contribute something like that to the giveaway?
I'm pretty new so I'm not sure if that's ok or not.
