i managed to get over this part. I wasnt aware, or at least i wasnt educated enough about linux programs that you're meant to install it yourself through protonup-qt. i was just following the vid and thought steamtinker is meant to show up automatically due to the path automatically defaulting to steam. so thats done.

however..
i have follow up issue for the author/whomever might help me. i have followed the entire FAQ to get aurora working on the deck and i cannot for the life of me get aurora to react to any input without external keyboard and mouse

I swear ive done everything in the FAQ. for desktop mode i changed controller layout to multiple different ones, Ive alt-tabbed, minimized/windowed games, alt+enter... once aurora is selected, i cannot use touch pads or joysticks to move the mouse, and the deck isnt responding to keyboard (steam + x) command. the second i go to any other application everything starts working fine

i have added aurora.exe as non steam game to launch it solo without anything else and used various proton versions in forced compatibility mode and ive noticed the exact same behaviour. aurora just refuses to accept any sort of input that isnt external mouse and keyboard

For game mode aurora also launches...sometimes. it is so random. but neither in game mode or desktop mode it never detects that the game is running. i tried running both: games and aurora at the same time and it still doesnt detect any game running.

Would it be possible to get any advice ? i would be happy to purchase the 10 dollar software to get over this issue but i think its just the installer? aurora software and method of injection is still the same? so i assume ill have the same experience. i didnt want to create multiple posts so i kinda jammed 2 issues into one.

i decided today to try and reinstall it and was met with an interesting issue, using "tools>reinstall aurora"
i was met with failed to install Aurora: could not find a part of the path '/var/home/kage/downloads/aurora/audio'.
So I made a folder named that and tried again.
it deleted that folder and gave me a new issue listing could not find but this time a different folder.

How to add other proton runner to the launcher? I would like to use proton cachyos, even though the proton folder already inside compatiblity.d folder. it's still not detected.

the steam deck version crashes on game launch since aurorai update. i have reinstalled using the steam deck tool and I get a fatal error everytime i try launching a game or aurorai.

im having problems with the new aurora update on steamdeck too. before it was working fine but after the update i cant seem to enable cheats or use touchscreen and trackpad to search for games anymore

So I recently downloaded Aurora for the Steam Deck, and it works great for most games! Been having a blast going through Hades 2 and Superhot in particular.

But Plague Inc is giving me trouble - whenever I open the game with the trainer, there's a box which says:

"Special Instructions: Before you can use any option the game must be unpaused and your DNA points must have changed once."

Then there's a box which reads "I've read this" that you need to click before you can click on "Close Instructions" (and presumably open up the actual trainer). But... I can't seem to click on it.

Has anyone run into anything similar? I feel like this probably has an easy fix that I'll feel dumb about when I find it, so I figured I'd ask here.

try using desktop mode?
