Will do, there anything special I need to do when I do it like make sure all applications r closed and such or just download it and do it?

basically, you google memtest86. it will take you to their main page. they have an installer you can download. it will overwrite a usb device with their software. (its supposed to do that, so make sure you either use a blank device, or backup whatever is on the one you do use). its designed to be bootable. if you plug the usb device in, and it *doesnt* boot to it (as in, it boots to windows) you will need to go into the bios settings, and tell it to boot to the usb device. when it *does* boot to the deivce, you will see boring screen with options available. just let it do a default test. by default, it tests everything. if you dont know how to change boot settings, unfortunately, you will have to ask elsewhere. this post isnt long enough for me to explain it all
