If that only happens while using NordVPN you can contact their support. You can tell them Aurora is doing simple (.net) HTTPS GET requests to www.cheathappensnext.com/ urls. Maybe they can check it on their end what configuration is blocking it.

As far as I remember they have some advanced stuff like anti tracking / anti malware. It could be caused by that.

I'm having a very similar problem, my log is also showing

03:53: Failed to retrieve list of games, error: InternalServerError

but I am not connected to any VPNs and only have MalwareBytes installed which is concurrently entirely disabled.
DNS is 8.8.8.8, but 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) fails as well.

Currently, the only way for me to open a Trainer is navigate to the trainer listing via browser and click "Have Aurora? Open Now"

As even featured trainers on the "Home" page are bringing up this error:
