So I was checking and I recieved the message that I have been tampering with game files. Am I supposed to leave the easy anti cheat file alone when playing multiplayer or restore it. I've been restoring the anticheat file when I play with my buddy and haven't been using cheats unless I'm offline, so I don't know why I got this message
I just recently got that message as well and i've been restoring the original file each time. I've also only been messing with inventory amounts. Inevitably we're likely going to get an online ban so enjoy co-op while you can. The bans supposedly come in waves so it probably won't happen immediately.

If tradition holds true, modifying the item count directly is detectable by the game and will result in the warning about tampering. You could normally avoid the ban by deleting your cheated characters and playing legit. Otherwise, if you continue they do ban you.
Previously they got around this by either using mods offline which allowed them to 'legitimately' buy the items from a modified vendor, or by using a CoSMOS script which I believe spawned items on the ground, or modified the item you dropped on the ground. The game would see these items as legit.

I mean it's pretty clear...
If you've ever cheated with your character, even in Offline mode, if you ever go back Online then you'll get banned at some point. You think FromSoft would make it that easy? That you can hack all your stats and items in Offline mode, then just go back Online?
Basically if you ever want to cheat on a character, don't bother going back Online with it.
im sorry i am so confused on System > Network Settings > Launch Setting > 'Play Offline' do i do this though windows? or steam? just very confusing for me sorry
in the game settings, it says it in the readme "Set game in offline mode, in game options: System > Network Settings > Launch Setting > 'Play Offline'"
Did you launch the game by double-clicking on ElderRing.exe? Yes
Did you put the game into offline mode? Yes
Did you tried putting steam in offline mode? Yes
Did you update the file the trainer comes with? Yes
Did you disable the in-game overlay? Yes
Did you read and follow the instructions? Yes
Are you playing in OFFLINE mode? Yes
You can also try adding "-eac_launcher" Yes
I've followed the above instructions and it won't launch the game.
Getting the following messages trying to launch:
ELDEN RING is attempting to launch with the optional parameters shown below.
"-eac_launcher - eac-nop-loaded"
If you did not request this launch or do not understand these options, select cancel.
AND
UNABLE TO SYNC
Steam was recently unable to sync your ELDEN RING saves with the Steam Cloud.
If you play now, you may not have previous game progress and you may permanently lose it.
Any ideas guys? Thanks.
Your Steam won't be able to sync because it's offline, as you said it.
steps:
1 - undo the changes to the EAC file that the Trainer tells you to do
2 - open the game normally (no need for Steam to be on offline mode, no need for extra launch parameters)
3 - verify that the game is set to launch on offline mode (options -> network)
4 - close the game, make a backup of the original EAC file and put the Trainer's EAC file inside the folder
5 - open the game and trainer
6 - when ingame, moving your character, activate the trainer
7 - remember to not play online with that savegame and revert EAC changes if you want to play legit using another character and/or online
If Steam asks you about cloud saves, choose the most recent one to keep your progress. It's also wise to backup your save file. It's stored here:
"C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing\[BIG NUMBER]\ER0000.sl2"
If this folder is hidden for you, type %appdata% on Windows search bar.
