Does anyone know how they might detect this?

As an example. If I add 6000 runes or maybe add X amount of an item of sorts. Will the cheat system be able to detect this when I at some point play co-op with my bud?

I do not intend to use features like inf life/mp and such. Just small boosts in stat or more of a certain helpful item.

I heard they use Easy anti-cheat this time?

I'm curious as well. I don't need anything overpowered. Just something to tip the balance.

I decided to take the risk and try and it seems to work. I logged into online, although I haven't tried anything like co-op or invasions yet.

I'll list my exact steps
Followed OP's instructions and launched into offline mode with EAC off
Mem edited in a large number of souls
Bought some stuff and leveled up too
Quit the game, closed memory editor, relaunched with EAC on, still in offline mode.
Turned on online, close and reopened game, then I was logged in to Elden Ring servers

Nothing yet seems to indicate that I've been banned or marked yet, but if you decide to do this too I take no responsibility

If it's anything like the other FromSoft games they don't insta-ban but do it in waves. First sign is them notifying you your game has detected altered data, then that you've been in violation which is their softban message. At least how it was in Dark Souls 3. Hoping you're in the clear!
