Are trainers going to be a thing for the Steam Deck? I know it uses a special OS but I was curious nonetheless. Just wish the dang thing wasn't over $800 here 😓
I like to use CH trainers when I stream on Twitch :)

    Trainers for SteamOS possible? Yes
    Financially viable? Maybe not

As stated though, if you can run Windows on the device it's quite feasable.

I believe it is; This is from the Steam Deck FAQ:

Do I need a Steam account to use Steam Deck?
The default Steam Deck experience requires a Steam account (it's free!). Games are purchased and downloaded using the Steam Store. That said, Steam Deck is a PC so you can install third party software and operating systems.

Steam Deck uses Linux OS. We do have Linux trainers but there was such a low interest that we don't make these anymore.

Steam Deck's OS uses proton to launch "Windows Games" under Linux. Theoretically it should also allow you to run our (Windows) trainers under Linux, I just have no idea if proton allows inter-process communication or whether each process runs isolated. Someone with Linux can test it right now and let us know.

If it still doesn't work you can always install Window 10 and also Windows 11 (Valve confirmed they are working on compatibility for it).

However there might be a problem with hotkeys unless you plug in a keyboard to the device. Luckily we now have an ingame overlay. I could see if I can add a controller hotkey to it for showing/hiding...
