1st method you can unlocking it by modifying a file

1.go to your game install folder
2.open data_scripts.zip with winrar
3.open scripts folder and extract main.lua
4.open main.lua with notepad search this line "DEBUG = false," and replace it with "DEBUG = true,"
5. save and exit, insert the file into the zip file, override the original, save.

2nd method add --debug to your starting parameters.

1. in steam open the properties (right-click Griftlands and select properties and then click on "Set Launch Options"
2. write --debug and click ok/close

Boot the game
F3 to open the debug menu
Ctrl-M to get 1k gold
Press tilde during a fight to edit actions,resolve,hp for all toons involved in the fight

p.s. I've unlocked the debug menu by modifying the file and the achievements still works not sure by the add line I didn't test it.

in short no trainer is needed for this one

Do you know how to actually edit the cards in a deck with the debug mode? I'm not a programmer so other than figuring out how to make characters love or hate me and adding money I haven't been able to suss out much else.

edit in what way? upgrade them or add remove them? there's and option to all the cards (didn't test it yet) and infinite money you can remove cards from some npc.
I need to explore more because I never use much them (aside the energy and resolve ) so if you tell me what do you seek I can focus to search those options in details( if there are any).

the tilde is contextual , if you are in a menu for negotiation cards will open a screen like this Link

click on one of the card will open a menu with options different for each card in this case I changed to 6 and 9 the defaul values of 1 and 3 you can see in the default card on the right, and xp to match the max you see in the middle (to change xp click userdata and modify the xp to match the one you see here in the main page)

to see the updated graphics exit the view deck and reopen it to see the modification take hold.

are you able to get the metacurrency (mettle) with the debug UI?

I found the showed mettle, but even changing it doesn't stick;
maybe it can be added with a quest reward or while you buy it by the vendor of mettle, but I didn't find how.

It can be bought daily from the vendor during a run, each time selling more, with ctrl+m for the money it's easy to buy it, I didn't find a better way get it.
