Can anyone give me combat tips for the Mako aside from just repairing it?

for non legendary there was an bug that MAKO was not using this cheats and it was fixed, look like here we have the same issue

Update from my reply - I've requested health and shield for mako but it was refused due to no possibility to isolate parameters

Just practice. The Mako isn't that hard to drive or fight in. The combat is a joke, except maybe against Thresher Maws, and again, just keep on the move and zoom in with the big cannon. And quick save after each fight.

Trick is to drive MAKO like a race car. Never stop driving, especially on Thresher Maws. Use cannon as much as possible, use gun only when waiting while cannon reloads. Also if you see big Geth targets, you can run over them, and while they are pinned to the ground, just gun them down.

I asked for the same thing but I was told they couldn't isolate the parameters. I hate this though because shooting then hitting backwards out of range to repair just feels stupid. Thankfully we can edit how many medi-gel kits we can have.

Position the mako on top of a nearby hill, shoot and move down the non-combat side, this is a bit tedious but it works.
Other option is to exit the mako and take out the guns... barbarian style !

This exactly what i did, hide pop up shot a few times and then pop back down. It is a bit time consuming but it does work
