Answering both of your questions, hopefully.

My apologies. I used the term "VPN" perhaps a little bit too broadly. The proxy program I am using is Clash, which is a rule-based proxy, and technically not a VPN. It serves the purpose of unblocking certain websites, but it does not redirect all traffic.

Yes Clash automatically sets a proxy in the internet settings. Like I said, it is ruled based, so only the traffic where I need a proxy is routed, and the rest goes to direct connection. I have of course added CH website to the proxy list.

Clash exposes a mixed protocol (http+socks) port for all proxying purposes, usually it's something like 127.0.0.1:7890. I guess we now know such a proxy is ignored by CH programs.

ps. It depends servers, and the ones I use are fast enough. I'm having trouble pinging CH website through the proxy, but Chrome says it took 623ms to load inetcheck.txt.

Edit: perhaps add a proxy setting in the trainer manager? But then what about the trainers? They also ignore proxy settings.

Can you not just use a normal VPN?

Regular VPN protocols aren't reliable enough. They can be easily sniffed out and blocked, usually in hours. I still got money left in some VPN service, but that service has been blocked so it'll never connect.

Look, I'm fine with the current setup. I can live with offline keys and long loading times and checking updates manually. I just thought I'd let you guys know that for years, in all the software I've used, CH programs are the only ones that do not work with proxies. Perhaps you are worried about someone setting up a fake authentication server and steal your trainers?

I downloaded Trainer 2.0 about a week ago and it was working fine, until a day or two ago... Now I get an error saying System.InvalidOperationException: This operation is invalid since the DockingWindow has not yet been registered with a DockSite.atActiproSoftware.Windows.Controls.DockingWindow... (I attached the errors for the mods..

close it, delete Layout.xml, re-open it.

This can't seem to find my trainer even though i pointed it to the folder with the trainer in it
